Frontline for Dogs

Dog Fleas are No Problem if You Have the Right Treatment!

Fleas, dogs and summer go together well. It is a perennial problem for dog owners to experience the joy of yet another flea infestation and many a pet's nightmare. Fleas can make your dog's life a misery, what with the pain of being bitten and the feeling of lousiness. So, what can you do about it?

Well firstly you should waste no time at all in tacking the problem. It's not difficult to get rid of dog fleas; you just need to get the right treatment. Now, there are a few treatments on the market. You could, for example go for flea powder but putting this on your dog can be a messy process. Another option is using a spot on treatment which only requires a small spot of treatment to the skin on the back of the dog's neck. This is a much better option. It's cleaner and also more effective.

There are a few different brands of spot on flea treatment on offer but the original and up to now, the best available is Frontline Spot On. This comes recommended by vets and is the strongest treatment you can get over the counter without a prescription. Since other brands don't advertise this claim, one could assume Frontline to be more potent then its rivals.

Frontline for Dogs comes in a small packet containing a quantity of 3 or 6 pipettes. Each pipette used will treat your dog and keep him protected from further infestations for a full two months. This means a three pack will prevent any flea attacks for six months or a whole flea season of spring & summer (when fleas are most prevalent). The six pack is usually much cheaper and can keep you dog free from fleas for a good couple of years!

It only takes a few minutes to treat your dog, just a simple case of snipping the top off the pipette, parting a small amount of fur on the rear neck region of your dog and squeezing the Frontline directly to the skin. In no time at all this treatment will disperse to all areas of the dogs body, leaving no hiding place for fleas.
Frontline comes in a variety of guises, each particular one pertaining to the size of dog it's designed to treat. From small dogs to extra large dogs, all breeds are covered. There's even one for cats.

If you have more than one dog, you should treat them all, even if they don't appear to be suffering from any infestation. Fleas can hide in all sorts of places, and if one dog's got them its probable the rest have too. It's a good idea to treat them anyway as a preventative measure to stop any future attacks.

After you done your flea treatment it's always good practice to worm your dogs too. Drontal is good for this and is very inexpensive. Once done your canine pet will probably feel a lot better about himself even if he doesn't thank you personally.
